1. Well for starters, there’s really no history of vacation rental properties or vacation renters causing problems in Dunsmuir.
  2. Any problem created by a rental property owner or renter is already addressed by existing laws.
  3. A vacation rental is a residential property used as a residential property.
  4. Regulation is impinging on an existing property right. Take away the right, the owner suffers damages. Is Dunsmuir prepared to compensate homeowners?
  5. Do we really want to control our neighbors so much that we’d give up property rights?
  6. Government involvement depersonalizes neighborly relations.
  7. Aren’t we really just a friendly small town who welcomes visitors?
  8. Boy those vacation rental properties sure are nicely maintained!
  9. Will non-homeowners get to vote on property rights?!
